16 Months & 17 Months at Christmas

The past few months have been a whirlwind!

We found out you are going to be a big brother in July and Momma has been having a hard time keeping up with you! We are so excited and know you are going to do a great job helping with the baby.

You had your first long roadtrip. We went down to Rockport, a 6 to 7 hour drive, for Thanksgiving with your Gigi's family. They enjoyed meeting you for the first time and you loved running and playing with the dogs outside. You had your first vacation away from your Dad and Mom and spent 4 days and 3 nights at your Grandparents' houses. Looking back we probably should have done a trial run of a night away sooner, but you did amazing.

Christmas was much more fun this year for you! You got to meet Santa and had your very first picture with him. You love opening gifts up and then playing with them immediately. You recieved tons of great toys, stuffed animals, clothes, books, blocks and an awesome stuffed monkey chair! Quite the haul!

It snowed on Christmas Day and you aren't very sure about snow. I think the last time it snowed you were still growing in Momma's belly. We made you get in it anyway and you ran around a bit with the dogs. Now as I write this you are taking your nap and hopefully your body is repairing itself. Unfortunately you have a very runny nose and small cough today, at least it waited a day!

This year we let you have your own small christmas tree with lots of soft or unbreakable ornaments. We were so impressed with how well you have done with all the christmas decorations. My big boy!
Your speech is improving, you've added a few new words and sounds. You are getting more vocal about what you want and we are working on communitcation, not just "Uggghhh" and pointing. :-)
You are more of a picky eater than before, but your appetite is still healthy. You are my social butterfly and talk, laugh or blow kisses to everyone you meet. The ladies at the grocery store love having your in their line!

Unfortunately our camera is having some issues, so we don't have a ton of pics to document. But we should be getting our fancy Nikon soon, so all will change!!!

Here is to a wonderful 2013!
