Christmas is here!
Its Nathan's first Christmas and we are so excited to share in
his wonderment. I know he has no clue what is going on but I love watching him
stare at the lights outside, the Christmas tree and boy can he pull an ornament
off a gift! He may even be able to help open gifts :-)
Today he is 5 months old!!!
It felt like his 4th month flew by. At
the doctor's he was 14lbs 5 oz, 26-1/2"
long. James thinks that they measured him a
little short and that he should really be 27" long. We realized
after getting this news that our car seat only goes to 30" so
needless to say we are going to be getting a new one shortly!
He is already wearing
size 2 diapers and 6 month to 9 month clothes - more for the length than the
weight. His favorite toys are his Sophie (a teething giraffe) crinkle book or
block and this fun ball popping toy that he just got.
He rolls from his stomach to his back when he doesn’t want to
do tummy time. Little stinker! But he has great muscle control with his neck. He enjoys his walker and jumper much more than his swing - but even then its only for 10 to 15 minutes - and then he wants Momma.
We are slowly getting a schedule, his naps are starting to
become more frequent. But with 2 teeth coming in I know I can’t rely on
anything. He sleeps through the night most nights, unless he is in pain and
then I sing to him to soothe him back to sleep. Teething is not fun and its getting worse so I assume that means they are going to break through soon. He gnaws on everything and had his first diaper rash - poor little guy! We will make it through this soon... :)
I know I can speak for James when I say that we are so
blessed to have such a wonderful baby boy. He is our delight and joy and he is truly
our gift from God.
Merry Christmas Everyone!
